Pramukh is a nonprofit organization involved in Solid Waste Management efforts in Dehradun, India. The residential service of door-to-door garbage collection and proper disposal of garbage was launched in 1995 with one sanitary worker in just one neighbourhood and 40 subscribers. Sanitary workers collect garbage from subscribed customers from the neighbourhoods for a monthly fee. We serve 6 day/week for a monthly fee of Rs. 40.00.

By April 2010, Pramukh has succeeded in creating sustainable productive employment for over 45 people. We are currently serving over 4500 households in over 50 neighbourhoods, a few schools, and a few hotels/restaurants.

Pramukh was founded in 1995 by Ramchandra Prasad, a Non Resident Indian living in the USA, originally from Bihar, India. The organization was registered in 1996 and an Executive Committee Board of 7 members was formed.
